Food is a true labor of love for Anthony and Melissa Imperiale, and it’s all about family.
The married couple own the Italian restaurant Mezza Luna and the Estrella Azul in Bell Works, the historic former Bell Labs building in Holmdel.
The top dish of this high-end, fast casual restaurant is the Taco Trio, Anthony said, which allows you to pick any three of their traditional street tacos. Also popular at Estrella Azul are the twisted tacos, which are a creative take on classic Mexican — including the “Vegetal” vegetarian taco, and the “Buffalo” buffalo chicken taco.
“Our pork dishes are cooked for over 16 hours overnight, and our steak is sous vide for a couple hours so it’s extremely tender,” said Anthony.
There are also options for vegans, vegetarians and those who are gluten-free (they offer corn and flour tortillas).
